Kate and I want to express our appreciation for the Estate Sale you conducted for us on Newport Drive in Oak Ridge this past weekend.   There are a lot of things we think your potential clients should know about your service to seniors (or others for that matter).

First and foremost for us is that you met all the commitments you made verbally.  Contracts are only needed when the participants lack integrity.  We appreciate the contract you signed with us, but we appreciate even more that fact that you met the timeframes, and sold the items that we agreed upon in our discussions. Your integrity is unquestioned in our view.

The second point of importance to us is that you treated everyone involved, as well as the sale items, with respect.   The folks working with you on the sale, us, and the folks who bought items at the sale benefit from your consideration.  One of our neighbors who purchased an item at the sale spoke glowingly of you subsequent to the sale.  Your management of the sale left a good impression of us in the neighborhood – that speaks volumes about your team’s professionalism!

You also left the place clean.  Considering that the two day sale was held in the rain, that accomplishment is nearly a miracle! We tend to be “neat freaks” and you exceeded our expectations in your cleanup.   I frankly had no idea you would be able to maintain that level of cleanliness with the crowd and the rain. 

The pricing was fair for folks who bought items, and the result was quite substantial for us as your client.  Your payment of proceeds within the first working day after the sale was unexpected as well.  That bit of professionalism far exceeds what one typically finds in the “normal” business world.

The bottom line is – if you ever want a recommendation for a potential client; do not hesitate to use us as a reference.  We wish you every success; we admire both you and your team, and the spirit and know-how of all concerned shows through in the product you deliver.

I wanted to thank you for doing such a wonderful job with our estate sale.  You and your associates made everything so easy from my standpoint, and I appreciated the careful and respectful ways you organized my late father's possessions and conducted the sale.  Your many followers through Craigslist and other promotions ensured a tremendous response to the sale, and I feel like you were really able to get a fair price for everything.  Handling the estate affairs of a loved one is never easy, but it's been a huge help not having to deal with a house full of belongings when you're trying to get a house ready to sell.  I'd happily recommend your services to anyone needing to conduct an estate sale.

When my Dad decided to move from the house he had lived in for almost 50 years, his realtor gave us Elaine's name and said "She'll take good care of you."  Elaine was amazing, from her first visit to the house until the day it was completely empty.  She was clear about what she did and how she did it, answered questions patiently and kept us informed every step of the way, which was important because we live out of state.  She was open and realistic about the value of furniture and other belongings.  She staged the sale beautifully and her advertising attracted a good crowd, many of whom knew her from previous sales.  Most important of all, she did a tremendous amount of work with unfailing good humor, warmth and understanding of our feelings.  She treated my father's home and belongings with dignity and respect. My family will always be grateful to her.

What I did not say is "If you have a mean, paranoid family member who is rude and thinks she knows everything, Elaine can take her with one hand tied behind her back."
